Medical Interests:

Dr. Houck is a board-certified invasive non-interventional cardiologist and internist who has additional professional experience with advanced cardiac imaging (cardiac MRI, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, cardiac CT), as well as with public health. In addition to taking joy in direct patient care for individuals with coronary artery disease, and valvular, congenital, and arrhythmic heart disease, his professional interests include preventive cardiology, exercise physiology and the integration of mindfulness, nutrition, and population-based perspectives into standard Western medicine.

With his health blog “The Pulse” at www.doctorhouck.com, he brings a credible perspective to community conversations about cardiovascular health, wellness, fitness, exercise, and nutrition. Our population is increasingly aging, obese, and suffering from chronic illness. But it is also more connected, health conscious and motivated for fitness than ever before. Dr. Houck’s training in public health and population-based medicine informs his effort to reach more people with credible health information than is possible through his clinical practice alone.
