July 2, 2009 - The Doctors Clinic has completed the first rotation of a Student Shadowing Program which allows students interested in medicine to observe physicians both in the office and hospital. Students from our community were invited to participate in the two week program and rotated with physicians in a variety of specialties including radiology, surgery, dermatology and oncology.
The physicians of The Doctors Clinic are providing this community service to help students get an inside view of medicine. “Students get a chance to be with many different specialists ranging from family practice to subspecialists and surgeons,” Brian Kim, M.D., Oncologist / Program Director.
The first group of 13 participants included a college student from Victoria, British Columbia. The students went on rounds with the physicians at Harrison Medical Center and observed radiation therapy with Dr. Audrey Tran – Harrison Medical Center Oncology Department.
“More than 20 physicians from The Doctors Clinic volunteered to be mentors. To honor the student’s completion Dr. Brian Kim is hosting a reception, Thursday, July 2, 2009, at The Doctors Clinic Cavalon Place, 2011 NW Myhre, Silverdale.
